Firefighter Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Project Description
The replacement of firefighter personal protective equipment, also known as turnout gear. According to NFPA 1971 standards, front line structural firefighting ensembles should be replaced every ten years to ensure optimal safety and performance for firefighters. In the past, Burgaw has made efforts to meet this standard and has generally succeeded in replacing turnout gear within the recommended timeframe. However, with the addition of new employees or volunteers, there is a need to purchase larger quantities of gear to maintain adequate stock levels. By investing in the replacement of firefighter turnout gear, Burgaw demonstrates its commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of its firefighters. This initiative ensures that personnel are equipped with reliable and up-to-date protective gear, enabling them to effectively respond to emergencies and safeguard the community.
