Town of Burgaw

Stormwater Master Plan

Project Location

Various Locations

Project Description

The completion of a comprehensive stormwater masterplan for the town. The last plan was finalized in 2015, predating the significant impacts of Hurricane Florence. In light of the new data and insights gathered since Hurricane Florence, there is a critical need to update and refine the stormwater masterplan to better address current challenges and vulnerabilities. The updated plan will incorporate valuable lessons learned from the storm event and take into account new information regarding flood risks, drainage issues, and infrastructure needs. By completing the stormwater masterplan, Burgaw aims to enhance its resilience to future storm events, minimize flood risks, and improve stormwater management practices throughout the town. This proactive approach to planning will help ensure the town's infrastructure is better equipped to withstand and mitigate the impacts of severe weather events, ultimately safeguarding the well-being and prosperity of its residents and businesses.
